A house designed with sustainability and elegance in mind moves through time and space, where exterior and interior subtly connect through large glass surfaces and interior design, yet remain distinct, each within its own harmonious environment.
In the interior design concept, we sought to blur the boundary between outside and inside. At the client’s request, greenery and natural materials such as wood, stone, and ceramics were introduced into the space.
The interior design is simple yet attentive to detail. The interplay of greenery entering through the large glass openings and carefully selected design and furniture pieces made of natural materials creates a space that breathes with nature. The inner and outer worlds also connect through the design of volumes that playfully layer, interlock, or resonate with one another, taking on different functions within the space – as seating, cabinets, plant elements, or furniture bases. Greenery in the interior is not just decoration but part of a holistic concept that brings vitality and dynamism to a color- and material-wise more subdued environment.
A distinctive feature of the interior is the central element of the living space – a fireplace clad in small-format ceramic tiles, visible from all sides, serving as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional hearth where the family gathers.
The open, airy staircase stretching across several floors is not only functional but, with its design and the interplay of greenery, light, and art sculptures on the steps, becomes a kind of gallery space within the house.
